Scuba Diver Guestbook

To be honest I was a little nervous about diving wuth this over sized raft boat. But it was one of the fastest and smoothest boats I have ever been on. What I liked the most was all the room, most dive boat are pretty crowded we had 13 divers and it felt empty. Steve the dive master showed us all kinds of strange fish and takes the best picture I have seen on a diving trip. For lunch they gave us a sandwhich, chips, fruit and soda. Not just a small snack it was the best lunch I have had on a dive boat. I will dive with them again instead of the #1 rated dive shop down the road which I have dove with in the past. This might be a little hole in the wall dive shop but you get the biggest bang for your buck!

I have been diving on Maui, two or three trips each year, for 10 years and it took this long for me to stumble across Captain Steve and his team. Are they the biggest dive company on the island? Not by a long shot! Do they have the biggest boats with the most amenities? No way!

What I have found out is that Captain Steve and his team are more knowledgeable about their dive sites, give you more bang for your buck than the "so called big guys". On one dive during September 2010 I saw more endemic species than I have ever seen during any four dives anywhere else.

If you are a serious diver, or not, like to take photos underwater as I do and want a truly enjoyable experience that is not a cattle call, this is the place to get all of that and more. For West Maui, Captain Steve is my #1 choice forever more!!!

My wife and I are returning this July and we're bringing our daughter this trip. She was jealous when we told her about the great dives and great people we met. Steve and crew are awesome ... especially to put up with an "air sucking dog" like me.

I look forward to diving with Steve and crew on the new dive boat Hoku! Can't wait!

The resorts are really nice the food and service was superb and the diving was great with most of the dives sites minutes from the resort. I saw the Blue Ringed Octopus on their House Reef at Dumaguete on the Mandarin Fish Dive.

Jan and I got round trip air fare on Hawaiian Air, Honolulu direct to Manila for $630.00 it is a 10 hour flight but it¹s direct and we would want everybody flying on the same air line and arriving at the same time because of all the transfers to and from the resorts. At both Dumaguete and Puerto Galera we will be staying at an Atlantis Dive Resort. Please see these website links for more information about the Dumaguete and and Puerto Galera dive sites.

Trip Schedule

Bali to Laboanbajo Liveaboard Dive Trip

Bali to Laboanbajo

Join Captain Steve Juarez and his wife Jan on another diving adventure in Indonesia along with renowned underwater photo/video pros Marty Snyderman and Mary Lynn Price, we  will be onboard the MSY DAMAI for an 11-night trip: September 28 - October 9, 2009 from Bali to Laboanbajo

Molas & Dragons

Embarkment in Benoa Bali, departure to Nusa Lembongan for Mola Mola search. The Molas can be found in water anywhere from 40 to 130 feet. The come in to get cleaned by bannerfish and angelfish as well as assorted wrasses.. The low impact size of our dive groups enhances our chances of multiple mola encounters. Molas can reach sizes of 4 tons and be over 15 feet tall.

Mola-molas, or ocean sunfish, visit the reefs of Bali only for a few months every year. The rest of the time they have a pelagic existence in the open sea. We depart at the end of their season and shouyld be able to glimpse the molas. They like deep dropoffs and upwellings and can be found anywhere from 40 to 130 feet. The come in to get cleaned by bannerfish and angelfish as well as assorted wrasses.

Komodo will be at its peak in the north with excellent visibility and the famous critters arriving in big numbers. Dive will be done in the region from Sangeang and Rinca.

The Komodo National Park has been a huge success and is one of the best model programs the country has to offer in terms of preservation and conservation. This is why we believe Komodo park diving is still at the top of the diving scale in Indonesia. The state of the hard corals in the north is outstanding, the fish numbers have increased and the critter life has been abundant.
To top it off, regular encounter with pelagic creatures like mantas and even sharks is on the rise.

Rinca and Horseshoe Bay can be cooler than northern sites so we have free (FOC) new 5mm wetsuits for our guests.

Visit Dive Damai web site for more photos of the boat, cabins and Indonesia
